It is urgent that "the Federal Government makes the vehicle theft problem a priority in Quebec," says the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). The IBC therefore urged the Federal government to complete its work on the theft of vehicles by adopting Bill C-26 as soon as possible.

"The police and the Border Services Agency of Canada need new tools to help fight against organized crimes and auto theft, and Bill C-26 gives them the tools," said Rick Dubin, Vice-President, Investigations, IBC. This Bill, which was adopted by the House of Commons, supported unanimously by all deputies of Quebec, is now in the Senate to be approved. Mr. Dubin said : "the public is strongly in favor of tougher laws against vehicles theft."
